The Seylan Bank PLC has announced a new senior level banking career opportunity for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This strategic leadership role offers the opportunity to drive financial excellence, governance, and sustainable growth in Sri Lanka’s banking Sector.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the bank’s financial strategy aligned with corporate goals.
  • Drive strategic planning, forecasting, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions for profitability and stability.
  • Oversee preparation of internal management reports for the Board and senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with financial statements, disclosures, and audit processes.
  • Provide leadership for regulatory reporting under CBSL regulations and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, Risk Management, and Compliance teams.
  • Lead sustainability and ESG strategy aligned with global best practices.
  • Develop analytics and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
  • Manage annual budgeting, long-term planning, and cost control.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years experience including 5–6 years at senior management level.
  • Professional qualification in Finance / CA / CIMA / ACCA or a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • MBA and previous experience in banking or financial services will be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of CBSL regulatory framework, IFRS and governance standards.
  • Expertise in financial strategy, capital planning, risk management and performance optimization.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
