University Admission Applications for the 2024/2025 Academic Year – Announced by the University Grants Commission (UGC)
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the schedule and details for university admissions for the 2024/2025 academic year.
As per the official announcement, the University Admission Handbook will be available starting on May 3, 2025. The online application process will open on May 9, 2025, and will close on May 30, 2025.

How to Obtain the University Admission Handbook
Students can purchase the University Admission Handbook for Rs. 1000 using the following methods:
1. Direct Purchase
- From the UGC Secretariat:
No. 20, Ward Place, Colombo 07 - Via Authorized Distributors:
Available through designated agents across the island.
2. By Post
- Step 1: Deposit Rs. 1000 to one of the following accounts:
- Bank of Ceylon – Account No: 0002323287 (Torrington Branch)
- People’s Bank – Account No: 167-1-001-4-3169407 (Town Hall Branch)
- Step 2: Send the authenticated bank slip along with a written request including:
- Applicant’s full name
- Preferred language medium of the handbook
- Step 3: Enclose a self-addressed, un-stamped envelope (minimum size: 37cm x 26cm)
